As to your earlier question, Keith, no. I was using the gnome origin. I tried the arrow head like you said and it does follow the helix. Mine will snap to the points I've created, though. You said yours would not, yesterday.

 

This may be a stupid question, but did you have 2D or 3D set on the bottom?

Ok, this was with dynamic transform, but it's a bit tricky.

 

It can be done, but you have to have to have it set to polar instead of delta before you start messing with anything.

 

Then, it's just a crapshoot of switching between 2D and 3D and different C-planes to get the line to step up the points and rotate.

Now, i'll probably never have to use it.......
