4 axis not starting out in clearance plane

I'm trying to do a 5axsurf parallal operation in 4ax mode. I designated the clearance plane to 7.5" abouve the 4th axis center line. In the cut pattern dialog box it works just fine when the sorting cut order is "Standard", But once I change it to "From center away" it wants to add another 2" in my first Z move thus overtraveling in -Z-. Why would it add 2" even though the clearance plane was not changed?
