Install problem with V9.1

Hi there

I've found something after installing V9.1. If I go into my parameter page in drilling, and choose the drop down list for the drill cycles (drill/counterbore, chip break, peck drill, fine bore etc etc) and choose, for example chip break or peck, the peck increment options, such as 1st peck, subsequent peck and retract amount, are greyed out. Basically, I only have the same options (those of drill/counterbore) for all the drilling cycles.

The O/S is WinXP. It does it after trying several different posts too.

I have a vague suspicion I'm missing something obvious here smile.gif

Anyone else struck this at all?

Cheers,

Mick

I dont know if there is a known install issue with this.

Those fields are dictated by the .txt file associated with the .pst. So if the post /.txt combination are not set up to support those parameters, the fields will be unavailable. Did the selected post support these parameters in 9.0 ?

For peck drill using mpfan the only one of those parameters that should be active is “peck”. The others are not valid parameters the way the post is set up. Try loading the mpfadal2 post and see if you have subsequent peck and peck clearance available with peck drill. You should.

In prior versions, many post configurations were such that those fields were active (available for input) but weren’t used by the post so it was misleading. Now the .txt file should be setup so that the relevant fields are active for the selected cycle. You can customize your post (or have it customized) to make use of these “extended” parameters and your machines specific canned cycles.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll check both solutions out, and see what happens.

I seem to recall that restarting Mastercam had no effect on it. I'll try other posts, and see if they enable the options.

Cheers,

Mick
