shout out to all the makino Pro 5 gurus

i have a a61 makino with the Pro 5 control (fanuc 31i) which is new to me and would like to change the channel for the ata card in the program to do a M198 PXXXX so the operator dont have to screw around changing the channel, setting the M198 folder and taking a chance of messing something up which in due time they will. they always find a way

this is how i do it on our a71 Pro 3 control (fanuc 18i)

G90 G10 L50

N20 R4

G11

M198 PXXXX

G10 L50

N20 R0

G11

the Pro 5 dont like this at all and alarms out on the N20 R4 line

i tried look ahead off, G53 before the G10 line and N20 Q1 P15 with no luck

i must be missing something here

any help or ideas would be great

TIA

There's two formats I know of;

this;

G90G10L50(WRITING TO PARAMETERS)

N20R4(I/O CHANNEL TO CARD)

G11(FINISH WRITING TO PARAMETERS)

and this;

G90G10L52(WRITING TO PARAMETERS)

N20R4(CHANGE TO FLASH CARD)

G11(FINISH WRITING TO PARAMETERS)
