Surface High Speed Rest rough - Corner Rounding???

Hi All,

Quick Newbeeee question...

Arc filter tolerance has a total tolerance set as 0.02 (metric).

We've used the refine toolpath set to best quality.

BUT, Corner Rounding...

Offset tolerance speaks for itself.

Profile tolerance is set @ 0.02 (metric). So what is a laymans explanation of this, and how does it affect the total tolerance (set @ 0.02)?

Max radius...is this an aditional value added to the profile ie is the profile tolerance for the straight moves only (not including arcs/rad moves), where the max radius is an addtional value to the rad moves only?

Hopefully this makes sense???

Thanks in anticipation.

Cheers

SKIR,

Just to be clear - we're using the Surface High Speed Rest Roughing toolpath, to finish the part (with no stock left).

Whether this is 'acceptable' to use this toolpath to finish I don't know, but the part looks really good so the path works well.

We had an issue where some profile lugs had incorrect rad sizes produced (model rad R5.5, Cutter size 10mm dia, actual cut size 6 ish).

We played around with the corner rounding setting 'Max Radius' and backplotted the code and this 'box' does have a big influence on the code, but It didn't seem too logical (to me anyway :D )

We have now got some settings where the parts are good so we're running, but we just wanted to understand how the corner rounding tick box works.

CNC?

Cheers
