How to drip feed to a Makino A51

I have a really long program that will not fit into the machines memory. The machine is a Makino A51 with a Pro 3 control. I know I can read from a memory card in the slot by the control screen but can I drip feed from that card? If so, anyone know how to set that up? If not, how about setting up to drip feed from the RS232 port? Thanks for any help you might be able to offer.

we have just run from the card, no need to drip feed.

What's M198 Pxxx? Will that switch to run from the card? Do I just put that in MDI or do I have to run that in auto calling up the card as a sub program? Sorry not use to running Makino's from anywhere but normal memory.

your main program needs the sub call,

M198 P1000 (example)

 

 

this is the main program.

M30

 

your card will have the O1000 number with an M99 at the end.

 

you also have to set you I/O to read the card

Here is what I do with our Makino's.

Make sure your I/O is set to 5 when reading a program off the card. If you do't have your I/O set correctly it can skip right over your sub.

 

 

The macro numbers are a double check to make sure it didn't skip the sub.
