I guess I'm not following completely. If the emulsifier acts like a connector pin with a sharp point to attach to an oil molecule and a round end to attach to a water molecule, why will the round end not attach to a water molecule when water is added to coolant (rather than coolant to water)? The emulsifier in the mix is the same as was in the coolant concentrate as before.

I am sorry but I missed this question - the answer my friend is quite simple. The amount of emulsifier in the coolant is Just Enough to disolve the given amount of oil in the Coolant Concentration Solution. When you add the water to the Coolant - which is already mixed - the emulsifier already has all its dancing partners and so there isn't enough left to act with the new water. If you add even a nominal amount of concentration to a bucket of water before you put it into the machine, you will be better off. The best solution is a centralized area with a Reverse Osmosis water purification device, hooked up to a metered delivery mechanism on the Coolant Consentration Drum and a reclaimation of the coolant and a settling tank.

One week after putting the new Oemeta coolant in three of our machines, we have a big problem. FOAM! city. The reps are now telling us they might have "accidentally" gave us two different products. The two products are reacting with each other.

Andrew,

Your analogy of coolants really blows me away. smile.gif

I seem to recall something that you said in a previous and comprehesive thread on coolants - something about peeing and observing the bubbles.

Amazing stuff - where ever did you gain such knowledge?

cheers.gif and keep up the fine work.

Regards, Jack
