Hi,

when choosing a tap rh tool, mastercam

calculates the feed rate by the spindle

speed X threads.

mastercam v8.1 calculates it different :

feed rate / threads.

this is not a good way to calculate it.

i had to calculate the spindle speed x thread

myself, and then write it in the feed rate.

it takes more time.

anyone knows why??is it a bug??

Thanks,

Elad.

We have submitted it to CNC Software last week.

If you change the feed the RPM changes.

You could set-up your post to calculate the feed based on the pitch of the tap and the speed, I prefer this method because when you are using a floating tapping head you can multiply the feedrate by .97 so the head floats.

I also noticed that after writing the

feed rate and the spindle speed, mastercam v8.1 doesn't save it!!!!!

after i clicked ok,i clicked again on the parameters in the operations manager, and i

found out that my parameters (feed and spindle speed)were gone!

if it's a bug,so it's a big one!
