Okuma LB15 Tailstock

Is it possible to advance and retract the tailstock on an Okuma LB15 without turning the spindle off? We are advancing and retracting with M-codes. We have a 6000 piece run and we need to eliminate the additional cycle time and extra wear on the machine. I have found a M157 m-code that I thought would fix this but I am getting an alarm. Any Ideas???

You should have a "cycle time reduction" manual or something for the machine that will (hopefully) show you how to defeat things like that. There should be a parameter that says "chuck rotation with tailstock ineffective" or something in there somewhere

try M55 M157 on the same line to see if it works

or a M20 to desactivate the tailstock barrier

The interlock code is M157 but it is an option.
