Creating vector lines from image

A customer is asking me to create engraving paths from a logo image. I have never done such a thing at all. I played with MCX a bit to induct an image but creates very jagged lines, far from crisp. Should I be working with graphics software like illustrator to edit the image or can MCX handle this? Seem pretty frustrating.

i import into mcam then convert using raster to vector. then i redraw on different level tracing the center line or outline of logo, depending on what i want to engrave or machine. its not hard just labor intensive. depending on logo and how dirty it is it could be minutes to hours to get it good enough for a tool path.

I use Inkscape (freeware) for this kind of job. It is fast and easy way to create vectors from scanned image or photo. Than export to dxf and open in Mastercam.

I have encountered the similar questions.i need to create vectors from scanned image.But i am a beginner in image area.I just want to know that if there is a powerful image tool which supports to create image or convert image

direclty and effectively.That's would be easier for a new users.Thanks for any suggestions.

inkscape or mastercam c-hook rast2vec or upload that file somewhere, i can convert it for you
