Bottom head path

I'm new to X5, so not sure if this changed from X4 but I can usually see the path for my bottom head on a 4axis wirecut minus the comp. Any idea why I can't see the path? I only see the where the sync lines end and the path should be.

OK... I just rolled my mouse in and out and it appears and then disappears.... What the heck?

 

Computer specs are:

HP Z210 Workstation

Intel Xeon CPU E31240 @ 3.30Ghz

14.0 GB of Ram

64 Bit OS

 

This should be a enough juice so that I shouldn't have any display promblems? Right?

Look in the wire backplot options and see if simulate wire compensation is checked.

In your Backplot options, do you have 'Simulate Wire Compensation' turned on?

What do you have for a Graphics Card? Onboard graphics or a separate card?

 

You might need to update your graphics drivers.

Also there is icon for only display selected toolpaths and you dont have you second op checked

'Simulate Wire Compensation' is checked. Nvidia Quadro 600? Doesn't that have to do with the graphics? Not to up on that end of computers... I might need to get our IT to take a look at it and upgrade if need be.

That graphics card should run Mastercam just fine. The latest drivers version for that card is 296.70. I'd recommend having your IT department check the driver version, and install the latest if possible.

 

Also, with the Nvidia cards, there is generally a settings panel that you can use to select a "profile" that the card uses for the default settings. This profile list usually includes a couple dozen CAD/CAM/Animation programs that you can choose, and the card will optimize the settings for that particular piece of software.

 

If there is no Mastercam specific setting, I find 'Catia' or 'Solidworks' usually performs the best with Mastercam.

 

I you are still having issues after checking your Graphics Card settings, then I would recommend calling your reseller for help.
