Codes G72/G71

Is it possible to use Canned cycle in Lathe and it generates codes G72 for roughing of face and G71 for roughing on diameter on the same workpiece. I tried but it only generates G71.

I know it sounds like a very basic question but I have to learn, it is MCAM 9.0

G72 Facing cycle works fine with the MPFAN post that came with your software. Have you had your dealer look at your output and offer suggestions?

I have gotten it to work no problem before.

Make sure that in your "rough direction",you change it to "face" or "o.d." in the rough parameter page.

Also,remember to pick an od tool or facing tool for the diff. op.

It is just as Bucket said, as long as Rough Direction is set to Face you should be good to go. Just watch the Compensation Direction if you are using the same tool to rough face and rough turn or your tool will end up on the wrong side of the line!

 

Not that I've ever seen that...
