Hi guy's

I have been sitting most of the night trying to modefid a post for our Kitamura and came to the pallet changer. My idea (being new to milling) was to set it up using Misc. function to activate it from Mastercam to the post. Is this the right way?, or do you guys have a better idea?. I never got it to work, not sure how to make the comando lines in the post, so it output a M71 plus safty moves.

P.S. Just spendt 30 min. going back throw old postings trying to make sure this topic wasent up this last month.

Thanks

Lars

Hey Lars,

I'd do it that way. Any time I use things I need to turn on and off I use Misc. Int. For example, Tool Breakage Detection, Look Ahead Contour Controls, etc... I don;t always use look ahead and I can't always check a tool (maybe it's diameter exceeds the face of the probe).

I think you're on the right track.

Hi James and Pip,

Glad to known I am on the right track here, seems to me that the Misc. function gives you alot of different options to costumize your needs. Last night I edit the post so in Misc.1 so you can change your workoffsets, like 4=G54 5=G55 and so on.

I believe the machine is a MYCenter too, pallet change is M71/M72. I am personly jumping between running EDM/WEDM and a Hass MiniMill, but the guy who is running the Kitamura came with these different issues, that to me sounded fixable. It is my idea to copy some of these changes to our other posts, Haas's and Fanuc Robodrills.

Hi Lar

We ran our Kiti using prog number 1 as a macro program, too call which ever program was needed acording to which pallet was active. In other words we did not use G54 G55, actually in the programs.

Program 1 would read the pallet parameter, and if pallet 1 was in the machine, it would set G54 and call subprogram ????, and vise versa for pallet 2. We found that it was possible to get prog and pallet out of sinc, and end up cutting the wrong prog on the wrong pallet. Just my words of wisdom. Made a right mess of the job.
