thread mill specs

Im relatively new to thread milling but now are shop is going full bore with it. I found specs for threading npt threads and straight threads but now we are getting into nps threads and others I cant think of off the top of my head.. I have already found some dicrepancys in our geometry that we use for 3/8-18 npt but have since figured out the correct major diameter to use to get the right end result. I am wondering if there is some kind of spread sheet that gives you all the info needed to thread mill standard and metric threads and of all different thread categories unc,npt,nps, etc ...I guess like a configuration sheet , you input the thread type you want and it gives you the right numbers and what not to go buy to achieve correct end results..thanks in advance..

Info is in Machinists Handbook, but vardex has a free thread mill calculator you can download http://www.vargus.co...t.aspx?pCatId=9

 

BTW, I haven't actually used that vargus thing, just saw it & downloaded it thinking it might be handy.

+1 to machinery's handbook, unless your customer's spec dictates the info you require.
