Is it possible to post a manual entry as its own program?

I am not sure if this has been covered before. I did a search and am probably just being ignorant about my search variables.

 

 

We have several programs that are sub calls by tool, by fixture, what ever. I keep the "main" program stored in a directories with the proven programs on our server.

 

What I would like, is to be able to paste the text from the "main" program, either in to a manual entry or where ever else it can be posted out as a separate program so that all of the programs required to run the part can be posted out of mastercam at the same time.

 

Is something like this possible?

Try creating a postblock called p_main_program or something and put your program in there. You will probably want to call it from "pheader".

I tried it and what I found is that you can, simply create a new machine group and insert yourmanual entry toolpath by itself.

make sure it has a different program number than your other machine groups. When you post select all your toolpath groups

that you want posted and as long as it has a different program nuber it will post to separate files.

 

Note: you may have to configure your manual entry data to output the program name the way you like it.

All in all not too complicated.
