small hole deep drilling canned cycle G83

HI guys...

 

is there anybody that comes across small hole deep drilling canned cycle for Fanuc control milling machines?

When the tool detects an increase in torque, it retracts and lower the feedrate and the speed . the format is as following:

M3 S

M ( the m code with number assigned in system parameter "

G98G83XYZQRIKF

G80

it is in parameter#5163, whatever that says is the mcode #

Actually I did that and I filled out all the parameters that go with the code..... so when I tried to use it, the machine stops when it reads the M code and it doesn't give me any alarm...Am I missing something here? Have you used the code yourself ?

its an option on the control specd out by the mtb, so probably not enabled in the 9000 parameters and most likely would require a board

Feed reduction as a measure of preventing drill breakage for deep holes is couter productive.

You would be better of increasing feedrate to get proper chip formation and decreasing peck distance to prevent flutes from clogging up.

 

What happens when too slow of a feed is used, chips are getting recut and reground, flutes clog up even worse.

 

Now if machine feels the overload and does a peck when needed it is a different story

But i dont see how it can feel a tiny drill is about to break.

I dont see spindle load move when drilling with anything below 3/6
