Inserted ball endmills(copy mills)

Recommended Posts

I need some recomendations on inserted ball endmills. Using .750 to rough is the main issue. The bosses don't wnat to spend the money because "we just tear them up", but solid carbide is way beyond what the are willing to spend. I guess what I need is recomendations with durability as the most important thing.

Thanks in advance

The iscar is nice but Dijet SWB Series offers the exact same cutter but the inserts are a fraction of the price. I am guessing you are blowing through inserts because you are hitting rads smaller then 3/8 and this cutter is being used for remachining If that is the case try a parallel remachine using a smaller cutter using collapse and clear the rad out before going in with the 3/4. Is this inserted cutter the single insert or the 2 inserts? The single is for finishing the dual is for roughing. I use these in tool steels.

Thanks all for the replys.

Working in A-2 and D-2 soft. The machine isn't the best, Cincinnatti 850 bout 30-35 yrs old.

Managers are wanting to send everything out anymore because they seem to think that endmills and inserts aren't consumables and should last for years. just trying to keep repair and replacement parts in house. Most parts and dies are LARGE, we make truck bumpers.
