New Multas and OSP controller V Mori

Recommended Posts

A simple facing op does the controller does not use the billet stock you define, you have to tell the controller where to start the facing from.

You have to craete a roughing and finishing processes for turning the same feature.

On a Mori its one process with roughing and finishing all in the one process.

Is this using AOT? You can copy the rough op for the finish or using the "One Touch" feature it can automatically generate the toolpaths for you (based on parameters you set-up)

I do not like at all the way you have to set your Z zero. You have to know your tool length and CAL using the tool length.

A Mori does this automaticly, using any tool to set Z zero.

For this another way to do it is to call up your offset in MDI, go into Mid-Auto Manual, touch off and Cal-0. It will use your offset that way.

The machine can not move in more than one axis in jog mode even with the doors closed, this sucks. Then try using the hand wheel while holding the dead man switch all the time (pain) oh and dont forget to to turn one of 5 keys on in the controller.

This is with the Collision avoidance active. For it to be able to monitor real-time in manual mode (where it cannot read ahead what you are going to do) it limits you to one axis of movement.

Can't MDI tool change unless X is in upper limit. Can't move machine unless Y is home pain after using multi tasking tooling with Y offsets.

YoDoug created a toolchange macro that takes care of this and I have a few others that make setups easier. PM me if you would like more info

Whats with the controller being 3 feet of the ground?

Do you need a stepladder or a bar-stool?
