Okuma Thinc Facility

I'm currently on my way back home (to New Zealand). We recently purchased an Okuma MU500 5 axis machining centre, and it was installed while I was away.

 

As we have (very) limited resources for these machines locally (as in ours is the first of this type in our country), I made the decision to head to Okuma USA in Charlotte NC. They have one of these in their technical facility.

 

The trip was well worth it for me. Having little experience in 5 axis, the tuition I got there was great, and I managed to get some post hassles and Vericut machine hassles sorted while I was there. (A big thanks to Jimmy Wakeford of Barefoot for helping out big time)

 

I just wanted to post this up, for any Okuma users out there. If you are in need of any technical expertise that you can't get elsewhere, then talk to these guys. They are really helpful, and they have so much resources there that you should be able to find a solution there.

 

I'm looking forward to getting back home and trying out some of this new knowledge
