reporting communication error

Hello,

I am getting an error when I regenerate a surface finish high speed waterline tool path.

This was not happening yesterday.

All parameters are the same except WCS was moved to a different XY point.

Error- "Reporting Communication Error" and the tool path stops regenerating.

Using Mastercam X-7 SP-2

What are we doing wrong?

Any help would be nice.

Thanks

Hey Smrk,

The error was "reporting communication error". I deleted the faulty operation and re-selected every thing and the error kept coming up and the op would not re-generate. Switched to surface finish contour and it worked just as well as the surface finish high speed waterline and no error.

Thanks for the reply.

Brad

We get a "reporting computation error" when running any of the "opti" 3d toolpaths. We were originally having this error on a new machine bulid and could not work out why. Anyway we did a full system re-install when we built an identical sister box. Fixed the error and was all good until yesterday , now the same toolpaths won't regen on one box but will work fine on the other identical box !!!

Have tried to get some direction on this with CNC software , but seems to be in the "too hard" and "its a hardware issue" department :wallbash:

I notice occasionally now, it returns a "Error computing toolpath. Contact your reseller" or words to that effect...

This was on a simple singular surface, using a Finish Shallow toolpath, last time I experienced it. I'm not sure why, as it generated fine in X6 using the same parameter settings :(
