X7 Lathe tool library.

I have had some serious issues with lathe tool library's. In X7, once I create a tool, it will ether not save to the library, or it will save 25 times, It will save as the tool I created, for instance, a boring bar. but sometimes it will save as a boring bar, a drill, a turning tool, a grooving tool, ect... all with the same tool number. Once all these tools are in the library. I cannot delete them.

 

I program an Okuma Multus with a subspindle. We have a dedicated set of tools on board, and I have been unable to set up the majority of tools so they will run correctly. It is a royal pain in the hiney to have to set these tools up every time I call them up.

 

My reseller alluded to the fact there was a glitch in the library months ago, and he was supposedly looking into it. But I haven't heard anything from them since.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just had the same issue in X7 tool library. Even worse, I modified an existing tool in a dedicated machine library and not only did it no record the changes, it deleted the tool entirely. Thought I would check here to see if anyone else has the same issue.

I can't delete a tool in mill tool manager.  X7, right click, hit delete and it says "Unable to delete tool"  WTF?

I checked the file for permissions and I have full permissions.

Have you checked to make sure the tool is not being used in a file? Try opening a blank file. Then make a default mill. Then open up the library in question using the tool manager and see if you can delete it that way.
