Gouges in Optirest

I am using Optirest with a reduced shank tool and the toolpath generated is rubbing the tool shank on the remaining stock. Here is the tool data:

3/8" bull mill with .060 corner radius and 1/2" flute length. Neck is reduced to .355" and the stick out is 1.85"

I am getting a lot of tool neck collisions in this toolpath. Any idea how to remedy this? The operation is driven by a stock model.

On the trim to stock page the default option is to 'Adjust stock to ignore small cusps',

You can try changing that to 'Use Remaining stock as computed', or else the other thing I would suggest if that doesn't help is changing that to 'Adjust stock to mill small cusps' and put in an adjustment distance..

The adjustment distance is the amount of stock mastercam 'adjusts' the stock model by adding it to the stock model when calculating the toolpath, ie. an extra amount it assumes it needs to mill off..
