Newbie Need help

Hi, I'm Andy. I just start out to learn Mastercam. I just installed Educational MasterCam and I tried to draw some lines and rectangles, but I only can the lines after I hit clear color. Is there something wrong with setting ?

Yes need to make sure the active level is selected in the levels manager.

Thank for reply. I tried what you say but it didn't help. I still struggle with it. No preview lines. I see nothing until I hit clear color button.

P/s: I use MasterCam X7 demo on windows 7 64 bits.

it probably has something to do with your hardware. I have a similar problem running it on my laptop. It doesn't have the graphics capabilities that a desktop can. but you can do this to help it out. go into settings, configuration, left hand side go to screen check the box that says disable hardware acceleration. let me know if this works.

Do you know what your computer has for a video card? That is the "likely" culprit

One other possible thing to consider is the entity color vs background color... I have seen, a couple times, when the background color is the same as the mask or creation color and the lines do not show until clear colors is pressed. Basically, the created piece highlights the same as the screen color...

 

It allows you to draw the part, feature, line, because the final color is actually different than the masked color while creating it.... Just a thought.

Review picture and try setting Disable hardware on then restart mastercam and should be good.

The_Kid is right. I tried it today, checked disable hardward acceleration and It worked for me. Thank you very much. I guess I can start learning MasterCam from now on.
