Surface Finish Parallel

Hi Guys,

I got this problem that has driven me nuts for ages. I've played around till I got sick of looking at the screen. It's a mill/turn part (we got Mori Mt's) putting a keyway into a shaft on a tapered section. The roughing works really well, but the finishing, using above mentioned toolpath, will not move on Y axis enough to finish the keyway to width. I've up loaded a .zip file to the FTP site into the lathe folder. I have included an .STL file to verify against. I have tried various combinations of containment boundries, and check surfaces, it seems to make no difference. Any help will be great smile.gif

Grant,

The only way I could get it to finish the surface to width, as you require, was to create a base surface, trimmed to the cnetre of the tool. It seems for some reason that it doesn't like the containment boundary. This is weird, as any cavities I've cut, using containment boundaries, never cause a problem like this.

I've emailed the file to you, anyway smile.gif
