  1. Hi Rookie1, I have a PowerPoint presentation that CNC Software gave me, it is based round an Integrex, and decribes excatly what you require. I am more than happy to share it with you, but it's 19Mb, and our internet security will not let me upload the file to cadcam's FTP site. I will upload from home tonight, in about 12 hours, it's first coffee time here. I will include a MC9 file that goes with the PowerPoint file. This will help, Grant.
  2. Try Mori MT It is morning over here and I need some caffine......
  3. Hi Guys, If your looking at Mill/Turns take a look at Mori Seiki MT series, Mori Mt We've been running two here for a couple of years, a MT253-1500 and a MT4000-4000, While we had a major issue with our 4000, Mori looked after the problem well. Both have been solid reliable machines. Good luck, Grant.
  4. Hi Guys, I got this problem that has driven me nuts for ages. I've played around till I got sick of looking at the screen. It's a mill/turn part (we got Mori Mt's) putting a keyway into a shaft on a tapered section. The roughing works really well, but the finishing, using above mentioned toolpath, will not move on Y axis enough to finish the keyway to width. I've up loaded a .zip file to the FTP site into the lathe folder. I have included an .STL file to verify against. I have tried various combinations of containment boundries, and check surfaces, it seems to make no difference. Any help will be great Grant V9.1SP2 Lathe/Mill Level 3 with Solids on XP Pro
  5. Hi Mike, Can you get you paws on the programming manuals, or have they gone west?? You may find there is more info in the program than the machine requires. Just because it's always been like that, don't make it right! Grant
  6. I have to laugh at this topic, as this was a great issue for us in the last 3 years. The debate was so strong here that we actually went to Mori for the answer. We run Mori's pretty much through the shop. We dealt directly with the "man in Japan", there take was VERY non-committal, the only issue they did mention was that in the result of a crash (who has them? ) the machine would be better served running M04 with left hand tools. BTW, we have set our newer machines up to be left-handers. Andrew, our Sandvik man says the same heaps more rights to left, Sorry 90% of the world is wrong!!
  7. Got a Seco 63mm face mill out 575mm on a Sandvik tuned adaptor, it's not much use out there, but it does a job ramping out a cast hole in a LM6 casting. G
  8. Scott, Mayday is quite right, G84.2 is rigid tap R/H on a 15M. We have a alot of 16's, but they are all Mori's which have there own rigid tap cycle and associated codes, have you looked in the operation manual?? G
  9. Operators coming to say how well the machine is running, instead of turning up at 3.25pm on Friday to say, "I've had a wee touch on the ...(insert machine type here).... because I forgot to ....(add excuse here)...., any ways it's time to go, see you next week". Def. of wee touch = Tool wreaked, Machine needs reset, X or Y or Z or B or C axis needs reset, turrets on the xxxx, chucks on the xxxx., spindles on the xxxx...... I'm gald it wasn't a major!!!!!! Greg, Yep that's us, Mick, also on this thread is an Ex CWF lad. We all should pin down a time and catch up over a beer or 18 (unless you don't drink - then I will). Fling us an E-mail if you are keen, Grant

    Oh, also hows V9.1 going?
  12. David, Easytalk has a shift and scale function, I don't use this editor on a daily basis, but we use it for file transfer in the shop. It's a very common editor over here, Regards, Grant

    Re

James, I've been "into" the "K" parameters before and you are correct, there's some good kit hidden away. I'll have a look regarding the tool change, the Toyoda does not have the same level of information supplied with the machines that the Mori's do, which makes things like this difficult. Thanks for the memory jog, Grant.
