Its a matter of finance, Our shop is a small operation and have to be careful with the budget.

Now, I'm no finance major but if software can get the job done even a paltry 5% faster over the course of a single year, that's an extra 2 hours per week of lost productivity each 40 hour week. Assuming a $75/hr shop rate that's roughly $7,800 per year.

That’s a good way to look at it.

 

The trick is convincing them that it’s faster. Their usually the ones that are close to retirement that can't see past the learning curve.
