X6 / X7 Engraving problem

Hi.

I have an issue when using any 3d model to use as engraving geometry.  When I say I have an issue, I mean X7 has an issue!

I can start X7, import the geometry (solid file) set the part to the correct orientation etc... and start the engraving operation.  When I click the green tick I get the circle of boredom!

I have enough time to write this, send a message, start X6 and get the job done without the circle of boredom!

Any help / ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Andy.

What is the geom you are associating with the engraving tpath?

Are you using edge curve geom from the solid/surface model?

Is the geom a closed boundary?

Are there any duplicate or overlapping entities?

Is the engrave tpath of absolute necessity?

Are you just needing letters & numbers?

Would single point geom with a contour and the comp turned off do the deed?

Geometry is a solid face.

I am using surface geometry in selection.

Yes, closed boundary.

No duplicate or overlapping entities.

Necessity? Probably not, however, this works flawlessly with X6!

Not just letters and numbers, more like a small emblem.

Single point geometry may to but I'm looking for more defined corners.

More to the point, why does X6 do what X7 can't? (on my PC any way)

Thanks for the questions/reply.

Andy.
