Contour ramp question.

What conditions need to be met in order for the ramp option to be available for the contour tool path? I am having a problem getting the ramp option to show up in the dropdown, sometimes its available and others not, sometimes I just need to close the file or restart MC and suddenly its available again...

To the best of my knowledge, the geometry must be flat ( at the same z-level ).

The geometry I am selecting is flat. In this case the geometry doesn't seem to be an issue. I can select a contour tool path, pick my geometry, and have no option to select ramp, then I delete the new contour path and try the exact same sequence and sometimes I get the ramp option, sometimes not. After about 5 tries I just import a contour ramp tool path and repick the geometry and then I am good to go.  Its pretty annoying.
