I CANNOT SEEM TO LEAVE AN EXISTING GROOVE TILL THEN END. I HAVE A MANDREL WITH A FEW UNDERCUTS WHICH I CAN DO WITH MY VNMG. BUT I ALSO HAVE A GROOVE I WANT TO LEAVE TILL THEN END AND DO WITH A GROOVING TOOL. HOW DO I NOT CHAIN THE GOORVE?

Create phony geometry with no groove in it.

If you disable the "plunge parameters", this should prevent your other tools cutting the undercut areas. If it is a basic undercut, you can create the undercuts with a "point tool path". You just need to create a point at the vertex of the undercut, then in the tool path, give it a start point, plunge point, then a retract point and you are done.

Carmen, he wants to turn the undercuts with the VNMG, but the tool tries to plunge into the groove, which he doesn't want; the only way I know to prevent this is to create a "no groove" chain for the turning tool.
