After considering the exchange rate - answer is below.

 

Original Charge $30

Refund $ 5

 

Total Charge $25

Clerks Take $ 2

New Total $27

Paid By Each $ 9

 

This works and there isn't an addition on the new total and clerk's take as the clerk's take is the delta between the refund and the new total.

I thought this thread would be about the missing $33 million that the feds spent to "advertise" the new $20 bill.

If I'm gonna get one the next time I cash my paycheck, why do they need to advertise it.

I can see some money spent to educate people on the fact that it looks different and fake, but $33mill???? Come on!! They could have done that with a cam corder, a stale fed guy, and a 10 second spot during Joe Millionaire. That could be done for about, well, 20 bucks.

Classic case of misdirection.

 

Look HERE while I add to one column of numbers something that should have been subtracted from the other column.

 

It took me 1/2 hour to explain this to my brother in-law a few months ago.

 

The 2 dollars should have been subtracted from the 30, not added to the 25 . . . etc. etc.
