I am trying to program a M3X.5 tap.

I went to mill mm library and got the M3X.5 tap all good.

In the parameters tool Tab I filled in 500 RPM and the feed rate of 9.84252 came up,  also all good.

But the FPT seems stuck on .5,  ( Will not undate)no matter what values I put in anywhere.

Then whaen i post this, the F value comes out to 2.   after the G95.

Both very wrong. What am I doing wrong??????

Thanks in advance for your help here guys.

Am using X7   robodrill machine

Hi,

have you tried using F = the pitch of the thread M3 = 0.5 F = 0.5 soon, so I use a Fanuc 21 Series controller

when I type .5 in the FPT box the other numbers come up as .250 in the feedrate at 500 RPM

and when I post this the F is still 2.

It is asthough MC is seeing the FPT as .5 inch instead of .5mm????

But still don'y understand whey the posted code remains at 2.???

Hi,

You need to leave the F= RPM * pitch or F= Pitch

Código Fanuc 21 Série mm

T5 M6

G0 G90 G54 X0. Y0. S500 M3

G43 H5 Z5.

G98 G84 Z-6. R5. F250. or F0.5

G80

G0 G91 G28 Z0.

G28 Y0.

M5

M30

Buck30,

Since it sounds like you're trying to metric tap in inch.....

Go into your tool definitions...is the "Metric Values" box still checked?  if so, uncheck it

I also just uploaded the other day metric taps converted to inch 1-30mm's, you might want to hunt that up and give it a shot   ;)
