How to turn on-off the coolant?

You can use "Change at Point" to make coolant changes.

First, make sure your circle is broken into multiple segments. Then, use a Contour Toolpath.

Inside the Contour Toolpath parameters, make sure you disable "infinite lookahead".

After the contour is generated, you can open the Chain Manager by clicking on the Geometry under the operation. Right-Click on the chain and choose "Change at Point". This will allow you to click on each segment of the arc, and make the coolant changes.

I know it. But it is not rational.

What do you mean "not rational"? Do you mean "not easy to perform those actions"? Because it is very easy to use Change at Point to accomplish what you are after, and this is one of the only ways to get this to work in Mastercam.

You break your geometry at the places you want to be able to modify the NC code, then you chain like normal. After generating the toolpath, you use Change at Point to switch the coolant on/off at those locations. You could also output a Optional Stop (M01) or a Dwell if you prefer. There is information in the Mastercam Help File about how to use Change at Point. I suggest you look at that entry in the Help file for further information.

There is also "Toolpath editor".

After you've created the op (with broken arc....) right click on it, at the bottom of the list you will see toolpath editor.

Though this is probably the same amount of work if not more than "change at point".... Which I prefer over toolpath editor because it does not lock your operation.

Good Day Sir!

Hi Keith,

Yes, I prefer Chane at Point, because the changes you make to the segments of the chain are associated to the Chain itself. That means you can adjust parameters like depth cuts, and multi-passes, and the changes you made with Change at Point are still saved in the Operation. With the Toolpath Editor, those changes are lost once you unlock and regenerate the operation.
