Try re-registering the swdocumentmgr.dll using the following steps

  • Close Mastercam
  • Select "Start"
  • In the search line type CMD but do not click enter
  • Instead right click on CMD.exe and select "Run as administrator"
  • This will open a command prompt that says Administrator on the title bar
  • Next type the following string, don't forget the " " around the path:
    C:\Windows\syswow64\regsvr32.exe "C:\program Files\mcamx9\common\sworksdata\swdocumentmgr.dll"
  • press enter and verify you get a succeeded message

Now try importing a file into Mastercam

No, no 2016 beta has been installed. I've played around with the settings for solid import and it seems to be working fine for at least .sldprt files, but I cannot for the life of me import an assembly file.

EDIT: I had my IT tech come down and the fix worked! Thanks!

You might have had 'import history from SolidWorks' files turned on in Configuration - and that only works on parts.

Glad things are working now.
