Creating node points

Are you referring to the "Create > Point > Node Points" command, or are you drawing splines using existing points?

Can you tell us more of your workflow? Are you trying to edit the control points to change the shape of the spline?

The reason I ask is that the "Node Points" you create with the Create > Point > Node Points function are the points that form the Control Polygon, and they do not lie on the spline itself. You can use Edit > Modify Spline to manually manipulate the Control Points, which changes the shape of the spline manually.

The other option would be to use "Create > Point > Segment", and specify a total number of points or a spacing interval.

For being able to "remain in the function", you are right, the Create Node Points function is not modal. The easiest solution would be to either modify your Right-Click menu to include the command, or to add a Keyboard Shortcut, like the F12 key, mapped to that function. That way you can click the shortcut button (like F12), and click the spline, then immediately press the shortcut key again to invoke the function.

The final option I'll mention is the "MRU Toolbar". MRU stands for "Most Recently Used", and this vertical toolbar on the right side of the screen lists the most recently used functions. So when you use that command, it will show up as an icon in the list, allowing you to go back and press the button each time you want to use the function...

Hope that helps,

Colin
