Need to use lathe for testing a part

What I would like to do is, chuck on a part and hold the other end with the turret. (The part has a spring in it and is made so it can spin) I would then like to run the chuck for the 15 minutes, then dwell for like 5 minutes, then run 15min, dwell 5min etc. Can this be done without moving the turret? This would be done on a Haas lathe. Thanks

I'm sure it can be done,  this should get you started or point you in the right direction.

When that restarts on the m99 it'll pull out on the z1 move.

I'm unfamiliar with Haas lathes but if the control supports loops or while statements I'd use them or a simple counter like this:

O1234 (TEST PART PROG.)

#501=3(number of tests)

M10 (CHUCK CLAMP)

N1 T0100(INDEX TURRET)

M19 (ORIENT SPINDLE)

G04 P900. (DWELL 15 MIN)

M5 (SPINDLE STOP)

G04 P300. (DWELL 5 MIN)

#501=[#501-1]

If #501GT0. Goto10

#3001=1(test-complete)(message to operator)
