Tungsten ideas

Got about 50 of these guys in varying sizes, all pretty close in size, stock is 5/8 x 1 1/8 x 4.  Going to try and do them in a 5c indexer with tailstock.  Looking for the best way to rip this stuff off.  Not sure of the type of Tungsten, maybe the nickel alloy one.  My strategy is going to be dynamic toolpaths, using Garr VRX Ball and or corner radius em's, maybe some iscar insert tooling, hm90, or t290. Looking for ideas.  From the searching I've done, sounds like I may be in for a challenge.

I apologize for the lack in detail, but it's late here, and I'm read to bail. :p

Thanks in advance for the help!

It was long before the age of HSM .

It was ancient Iskar insert mill and solid carbide mills for finish.

Do not remember speeds and feeds but it was slow

Other than that it was no problem

Finish surface were regular sold carbide ball mills

But nowadays when you have chatter free mills like varimills and HSM

It would be no problem

IMHO rely to it as 30-40% slower than heavy duty stainless like 316

I WAS MILLING ON VERY OLD AND RIGID OKUMA MILL.

To have powerful and rigid nachine and setup is good factor too.

Good luck and have fun ,beware of drilling and never tap anything always use threadmilling
