Toolpaths Trim other toolpaths operation???

good morning to everyone,

I am using mastercam x8 to machine a stretch block out of a large billet and I used a classic MSurf 5 axis toolpath operation to rough out my block but theres one problem, it has quite a while of cutting air time. I went onto the toolpaths and down near the bottom of the toolpaths option there is an operation called trim. from my understanding it helps you trim your already created toolpath operation and you have created. I created the boundary that I wish to trim but it gives me an error of "warning-the construction plane is not parallel to the tool plane" what exactly does that mean? does anyone know how to use this toolpath? or where might i be able to get more information about it?

thank you to everyone for your help.
