Peck drilling

Hi All:

Can somebody help me ? I always just put an amount of about the diameter of the drill, to determine peck depth. All the supplier's books have how to determine speeds and feeds but no peck depth's. Is there a scientific way to figure it out, or just by feel.

Thank You,

Frank

It's understood that you should never go more than full diameter of the drill as far as peck depth goes. ( this all depends on the brand of drill you're using too)

Any drill under .06" your peck depth should start decreasing to a little over 1/2 to 3/4 of the diameter.
