M3 and m4 reversed ?

This is a new one for us.

 

Heard a cutter snap and when I looked the spindle was running backwards.

 

Now when I run the program it runs counter clockwise.

 

If I go to MDI. Type M3 the spindle runs counterclockwise with no speed control.

 

Type m4 it spins clockwise with speed control.

 

How can the machine switch M3 and m4?

First tool ran fine. Nothing has been touched.

Couple possibilities.  Could be the phase of the power coming into your building was switched, perhaps during a repair of an exterior line.  Could be the speed control on the machine is having issues.  Do you have other three-phase equipment, and is that still running forwards?

Repair guy spent 5 hours going thru it . A pin broke in one of the 6 pin connectors .

 

Lol he was frustrated with it. Once he found it he was relived
