Anyone cut 416SS 28-32Rc

I got a part coming up requiring this material. I haven't milled 416SS in a long time, and never cut it when it's 28-32Rc.

Anything special I should be aware of? Treat it like it's 303 and be done with it?

Some drilling and mostly light/medium milling.

my guess would be closer to 304 @ that hardness.

We made 1000's of gun slides out of it @ 35 rc its cuts awesome, guessing it might be a little gummy @ 28-32? all mill tooling was Hanita, Fullerton, Helical, or Walter TiAlN coated and roughing was cut dry but finished with coolant. We ran about 500-600 SFM. It is magnetic and will rust also.

Boss just changed the material to 17-4PH. Gravy!

Made the mistake cutting some muzzle brakes out of 17-4 H1100.

murder on little boring bars and micro100 threading tools.

ports with 3/16 em wasn't super fun either.

they sure looked nice though.

416 was easier to cut than 17-4 for us.
