Benefits of Multi-axis software

Hello all.  I program 3+2 machines regularly but I don't have the Multi-axis option with Mastercam.  I don't need to have all 5 axis simultaneous motions. 

My question is, could I benefit with using the tool paths, only available with the multi-axis option, on 3+2 programming?  Is it worth the upgrade?

Most definately yes.

I program from home on a Mill 3 only key....one customer has parts that are 3 + 2, so I can get them done but, I have at work and in the past had full multi-axis ability or a dealer SIM...as such, there are things I can do that simplify the programming process and have options available that are just better options in the multi-axis set.....

I would say, if you programmed in it for several onths and then took it away, you would feel lke yes, you could still get the job done but it would be more work to do so....

I agree with JParis, once you have used the multi-axis set, you would feel crippled without it...  I use morph and parallel for darn near everything now surfacing wise.  Far easier to get pretty much exactly what you were looking for without compromise or any bs getting there.

Wow!  Sure sounds like I've been missing out.  Looks like I'll dive in and make the upgrade.

Thanks for the Link!  I've watched the video now and see huge benefits.  I also do a lot mould programming.  Multi-axis software is definitely in my near future.
