  1. I have customized the set-up sheet post file to work almost perfect for my needs, except for one thing. I would like to post all my operations on one sheet (easy) but seperated by operation group (?). I have an HP printer that lets me print 4 pages of output on one page and I can get 20 tools output on one 8.5 X 11 sheet, but I need to seperate the op groups with a group name and program name. I have been editing the info in manually but I would like the post to output the info for me. If this info is something that you guys charge time for I don't mind paying my fair share. Any help is appreciated. Let me know.
  2. I have one for centroid M400 I can upload to the ftp if you wish. Maybe it could be modified for the M15. I am not familiar with the M15 so I don't know. Let me know. e-mail me at [email protected]
  3. Thanks for the heads-up. I didn't have the host ID correct. I'll try again now. If we haven't told you THANKS FOR THE USE OF THE FTP!!!!
  4. Thanks cadcam, I fixed the CuteFTP and downloaded the file. I'll try it tomorrow.
  5. Thanks for the heads-up. I didn't have the host ID correct. I'll try again now. If we haven't told you THANKS FOR THE USE OF THE FTP!!!!
  6. I am having trouble getting to the ftp site. I was interested in downloading the new-mill.set I read about a few posts back, but I get a page cannot be displayed error when I use the link in the ftp upload instructions. If someone could post the full url I would appreciate it. Thanks
  7. Hello guys. I'm sorry for this off topic post, but I need help. I am using a laptop to hold programs om my Mazak mills and sending them to the controller using Tape I/O and DNC software. The problem is I cannot use the trace function to proof the program before I run it. I have tried some g-code viewers but I would prefer to use the machines translator to get exact output as the machine is reading it. Oh the reason is Mazak memory $$$$$, laptop $$$. Thanks.
  8. Thanks guys. I'll turn off the canned cycles and see what happens. Sorry about asking a question that had already been answered. I read back a few pages to check for it when I found the forum, but I must have missed it. A few lines of extra code are not a problem as most of my part programs total between 500k-1meg. Thanks again. I have greatly reduced the "loop" problem by changing the post line that had arctol(?)set to .002 to .005. I think the Bridgeport has trouble with very short arcs.
  9. Thanks for the input guys, but I was wondering if I could rewrite the post to keep from having to edit every toolpath that needs clearance for my bridgeports. I can use the MPMAZ post on my operation and it runs fine on Mazak mills because Mazaks use the R code in the drill cycle for retract, but the Bridgeports use the Z Z Z for inital height, peck distance and peck clearance (I think?) and does not read the top of stock in the V8 toolpath. I use lead in, lead out on contour paths, but I can speed up the plunge rate in most cases to get the tool to the metal quicker. Cutter comp is not an issue with drills, and I am sorry if I didn't mention it was for drill cycles. Thanks again guys, and any other help is appreciated.
  10. Yes, this is the one I am using now, with some modifications to the arc tolerance to keep it from making "loops" when I run tool comp in the machine. Sometimes I get big circles outside the cutting area where there is a small fillet, even in pockets. Thanks again for any help.
  11. I can't get my Bridgeport post to write in the necessary code to pull up, clear a boss, and rapid back to the feed plane. The code sends the head to the clearance height and starts feeding at the feed rate which wastes a lot of time. I am using MC 8.1 . When we were using MC6.3 and adding "jumps" the code was correct. Thanks in advance
  12. Thanks everyone. I'll talk to my mastercam dealer and try some of the other options.
  13. I'm trying to talk the big-wigs into buying a 5 axis machine for my department, but I can't get the software to recognize a 5 deg taper mill when programming with 5 axis toolpaths. I have been using swarf, with upper, lower rails not surfaces. I want to cut 5 deg for most of the toolpath, but tip the head to leave a straight wall on one side in some places, but the toolpath tips out to what would be 10 degrees including the cutter and moves to straight up as if the cutter was a regular endmill. any help is appreciated.
  14. Hello, I'm new to the forum so bear with me. In this situation I found it is easier to use the entry helix, follow boundry, but not on failure only so the tool follows the profile of the toolpath. Set the entry angle very shallow to get the desired depth of cut per path around the boss, and turn off depth cuts. This may not apply to your situation but it might give you another idea that will work. I use this to pocket holes and the tool never comes out of the cut.
