  1. gcode, I've been trying to cheat the geometry to cause a lead in but no matter how I do it it always is posting out X rapid to position then g32 Z when I need to have the g32 line to have a X and Z then a Z to depth if that is making sense. And I dont see any parameters to cause a lead in in the custom thread tool path
  2. Hey everyone, so I have a odd ball one. I have a part (no I can not show pictures) that has a ball thread in the ID of the part. I used custom thread cycle on the lathe and the form of it came out great. My issue and where it gets weird, its a double blind thread, start inside the part ends inside the part. The way is comes out (using g32 cycles) is fine, the lead in it wants to plunge to X then use g32 for the Z which is giving me a undercut basically. Is there some way to do a lead in on the g32 line instead of plunging then g32 like start position, g32x and z then just a z move? Im not seeing anything for a lead in and for geometry mastercam only want one segement of the form otherwise I though about drawing the lead in with the form. Any thoughts or help would be great. Thanks!
  3. Hey, so I'm new to the mill turn world. I programmed a part that had shallow ramps on the face of the part. I used 3D contour with axis sub and x radial mount endmill to side mill the ramps. First side came out great, in the sub spindle though the were mirrored. Has anyone ran into this before? Is there a setting or something I'm missing to not make them mirror? Also can not show a file for it. For record, its a DMG NZX2000 and it is using G07.1 on both spindles. Any help would be great. Thanks!
  4. Hey, So I just recently got a seat of mastercam millturn for our NTX and NZX. On both machines we are running collet chucks which I have gotten solid models of from the maker. My question is how can I turn them (chucks) into a machine file to load them into the machine simulation? I can see where they have to go I just dont see how to save/convert them into a machine file or really if its possible this way. Any help would be great! Thanks
  5. If by chance your using machining advisor off their website, with slotting, I've had luck running at 90% of what they recommend and only 50-75% for the depth they suggest. It'll take longer but thats how I have gotten tools to hold up in slotting
