  1. Hi guys,

I just wanted to give you all an update.

I replied with a generic "Thank you" to everyone who send in the screenshot / description of their graphics card, driver date, and driver version. We're using this information to see if there is any common thread between affected machines. This is definitely helping.

We're currently working on a REAL fix for the problem and hope to have it to test shortly. I'll keep you guys updated periodically. Thank you again for your help, it is very much appreciated.

  2. Hi guys,

Anyone who is having the problem please send [email protected] the Windows Display Properties dialog describing the graphics card and driver. In XP, it can be found by:

    - Right-click on the desktop.

    - Select Properties.

    - Click on the Settings tab.

    - Click the Advanced Button.

    - Click the Adapter tab.

    - Click the Properties button.

    - Click on the Driver tab.

    In Vista, it is:

    - Right-click on the desktop.

    - Select Personalize.

    - Click Display Settings.

    - Click Advanced Settings.

    - In the Adapter (first) tab, click Properties.

    - Click the Driver tab.

PLEASE send these in to [email protected]. We're trying to find a resolution for this as quickly as possible. Thank you all for your help.

  3. MurrayMold - What OS are you running.

Kevin - Try moving your config file out of the config directory when MAstercam is closed, start Mastercam again, and run Verify. If you have time, lets start an email thread. I'd like to get MU1 working on your machine.

Scott - Are you running Vista?

  4. Hi guys,

Don't disable Hardware acceleration, this will make the problem worse. If you already have disabled it, remember to unselect that checkbox in BOTH Settings / Configuration / Screen AND Settings / Configuration / Verify Settings.

We ran into this a few times with nVidia GeForce graphics cards, and once with a quadro. Everytime running with hardware acceleration on and a driver update solved the problem.

Let me know if this helps.

  5. Still working on it frown.gif

If you guys can give me any steps to reproduce the problem consistently, please let me know. It works on all of my 64-bit machines. I have only been able to reproduce the error once, and 30 minutes later it was working again.

  6. John, can you export HKEY_Current_Usersoftwarecnc software, inc.Mastercam X4, zip it up, and send it to QC? Also, zip up your Engrave folder. We've been chasing this one for a while and have never been able to duplicate it.

    Thanks in advance.

Salahuddin, I have been looking into this again since you sent your email last week. No luck so far, but I'll keep trying.

  7. Hi guys,

At what point in the installation are you getting the error message? There should be text next to the status bar that indicates what Mastercam is trying to do. What is the installation directory you selected for X4? Are you choosing the "replace" option, or side-by-side? Is this Vista or XP-64? If Vista, what version (home, ultimate, business etc.) Thank you in advance.
