  1. Hi Huskermcdoogle, Could you send [email protected] an email describing your problem? We'll be able to help you out. Thanks!
  2. Hi Rickster, Could you email me ([email protected]) what the name of the crashing file path was? Could you send the part file too if possible? Thanks!
  3. Hi soymilk, Could you send me an email ([email protected]) with your Mastercam.com user name / handle and I can look into this for you. Thanks.
  4. lukedu69 and RaiderX, I get the same message using a test account if I attempt to click the Forum link in Jim's email and I'm not linked: The download page is in the link further up in his email, or here: http://cnc.mastercam.com/en-us/Public-Beta To link your account: Click your username in the upper-right of the screen when logged into http://cnc.mastercam.com Click Account & Contact Info. Click the Link Your Account button at the bottom of the page and follow the instructions. You need to have Mastercam installed on this system in order to generate a linking code. We do this to make sure actual customers are getting access to protected content. Let me know if you're still running into problems.
  5. I added notes about this on the cnc.mastercam.com download page and in the info button for the linking application. If you guys are still having problems linking, please let us know.
  6. On Strike, have you linked your account yet? The linking module can be found here: http://cnc.mastercam.com/Portals/0/files/support/downloads/drivers/MastercamDotComLinking.exe If you run that on the system you are running Mastercam on, it will detect your HASP and generate a one-time use code. Enter that code when prompted to link after logging into the website, or by click your login name in the upper-right of the screen, click Account & Contact info, and clicking Link your account at the very bottom of the page.
  7. Hi guys, IE8 does seem to be causing a problem. IE9 and later (or other non MS browsers) seem to be working well. We've also had a few reports of Antivirus software blocking the download. If this is happening, check your AV software and firewall to make sure it's not getting stuck. Thank you.
  8. Hi Everyone, Mastercam X8 Public Beta 1 has been made available to all current Mastercam maintenance customers to try out the new features and get your feedback before the product release later in the year. We've been beta testing for some months now and gone through four full Beta release cycles, gathering a lot of information and invaluable feedback while working with users and shop-testing the software. Now we want to open up the Beta to the general Mastercam community! This Public Beta release is open to all current customers who are on Maintenance. The Beta release can be downloaded here and will be supported through the new Mastercam Industrial Forum, which is staffed with CNC Software applications engineers, post writers, technical support, software developers and QC engineers. As we collect feedback and make changes, we'll make further updates available via the forum. Here are just a few of the things you'll see in the Mastercam X8 Beta: Solid Modeling Improvements such as push/pull direct editing, advanced model prep tools, a new interface and workflow, and hands-on drag controls. Mastercam Dynamic Motion technology for both Mill and Turning is enhanced, helping to further reduce cycle times and improve tool life - on just about any machine. Mill-Turn is expanded to include twin turret support, ability to define and select reference positions, and many other job setup / tool loading / sync manager enhancements. Dramatically improved region chaining includes new tools such as the Air Region chain that defines safe air the tool can move within. New integrated 3- to 5-axis tilt away option in 3D finishing to avoid shank and holder collisions by using multiaxis motion. Speed improvements in toolpath generation. UI Improvements, including upgraded graphics to provide a cleaner look and clearer, more responsive selection tools ..and many other productivity improvements across the entire product. Beta Updates and Known Issues We are looking to release a new public beta approximately once a month. Known issues, updated bug fixes, and other details will be delivered when you install the current Mastercam X8 Beta. Mastercam.com Forum All information from CNC Software, Inc. will be sent via the new Mastercam.com forum. All customers are encouraged to post any feedback in this forum as it will be actively monitored by CNC Software staff. Other forums will not be actively monitored for beta feedback.
  9. Our website, www.mastercam.com, will be undergoing a major change this year. Our goal is to provide customers with a better online experience and grow our Mastercam community. We would like you to share your thoughts with us by participating in a brief survey: http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22EDR3HCGEF/ The survey closes on January 20, 2012. Thank you in advance for your participation!
  10. Don't worry, I took care of the links. It's not available anymore Please be patient, it will be available very soon.
  11. Hi guys, The reason that Mastercam holds on to its boot memory due to Windows functionality. Mastercam keeps all of that memory cached close to the processor so that it can maximize performance. Normally Mastercam is not used along with too many other applications. When you minimize the application the memory is not released, rather moved into the next level of cached memory, a little slower. We could override this functionality, but this is a really dangerous idea.
  12. Hi everyone, X5 MU1 has been released to all customers. It is available for download on www.mastercam.com. Please be aware that X5 MU1 REPLACES X5. The update will use the same registry keys as X5. This install is designed to run on top of Mastercam X5. Mastercam X5 MU1 will replace the "Mastercam X5" entry in Add/Remove Programs (Programs and Features in Windows Vista and Windows 7). If X5 MU1 is uninstalled, X5 must be installed again. All personalized files in My Mcamx5 and Shared Mcamx5 are left behind after the uninstall, so this should not cause any loss of data. If you have any problems or suggestions, please email [email protected]. Thank you.
  13. Hi guys, This has been logged as bug number cnc00086684. Thanks for the help.
  14. Logged as bug number cnc00084552. Thanks, guys.
  15. Hi guys, We figured out what the problem is. If Mastercam is maximized, and the Operations Manager is undocked, and there is an application running behind Mastercam that is not mimimized, when the geometry selection arrow is clicked, the application in the background will be forced to the foreground. Thank you to Eric for the help with this one. I have logged this as bug number cnc00075885.
  16. And Bobs issue has been identified and logged as a bug. It only occurs in Windows Vista and Windows 7. If the user right-click and drags operations beneath the LAST operation in Ops Manager and copies them, the Toolbar menu will appear. If they are copied before, or somewhere in the middle, this will not occur. We're hoping to have this fixed for the next X5 beta.
  17. After running the tool library and saving it in X4, you can't open it in X3. BUT if the other shift is copying the tool libraries from C: to your network, it would overwrite your X4 libraries, and then when you open them, the toolsbup file would be created again. X5 will fix these problems with the ToolDB and tools-5 extensions. Something to look forward too. They CAN'T be overwritten by a previous version file.
  18. Bob, Check your email. I think I may have tracked down the problem. If this is the case, I'll post the cause / bug number on here for others to reference.
  19. Mark, *.toolsbup files are created when you access a pre-x4 tool library in X4. For example, take one of our default tool libraries from an X3 installation and open it in the tool manager in X4. Edit one of the tools and try to save the tool library. You will be warned that you are overwriting a previous-version file. Select "Yes". Note that in the same directory, a new file was created with a toolsbup extension (bup = backup). The tool libraries that are being restored (from It or where ever) are likely not X4 format. That is why the *.toolsbup files are being created. As to why your libraries are being changed / modified, if they are being shared, someone else could be making changes, pushing the libraries locally from C and overwriting your changes, IT restoring files for other people etc. There are a lot of possibilities here. If you can, try running everything LOCALLY for a while. I bet these errors won't occur. Bob, I'm looking at your issue now. Expect a reply soon.
  20. The NTVDM error appears occasionally, and we haven't been able to track down the issue yet. This is a Windows system file, and we suspect that it might be linked to Windows Update as many of the customers experiencing the problem says something along the lines of "I didn't get the error yesterday, and now I can't get it to go away." Do you get the error on start up and after that point, everything runs correctly?
