Creating a new login on the computer could do this as well.

Short term nothing will change...long term plan who knows. Mastercam in itself looks profitable with a large user base.
It would be nice to see things transition to a kinetic aware based system since they own Vericut this is possible or by buying Module Works as Ron suggested (Machsim).
What is this kinetic awareness?

Anyone have the simulator forget the stock configuration when it is open with the part? I have seen this a few random occasions. Mostly when I have a stock cylinder and it reverts to a block. Also the simulator seems to not remember whether a solid is selected for stock on re-open of a file. That's pretty consistent.

Not much discussion on the actual poll here. I found that tool life in spotting with a HSS SD is related to chip load more than anything. I like to have the hole chamfer there prior to drilling so use a spot more often just for that rather than location.

Change the direction to follow the longer edge. If you start from the bottom, you don't have to do as much roughing or none at all depending on the size of the cut, tool, part etc.etc. Arc filtering is on the 3rd page under the "total tolerance" button That, and stepover are your only facet controls.

I'm not usually as aggressive in copper as aluminum but start as Ron said and you may end up with a little less SFPM and sticking with the higher chip load. This is where machining becomes the art that it really is. There are good artists and not as good. I was sending copper chips 30-40 feet across the room back in the bridgeport days.

That's a great drawing with a couple of issues. Seems like normal everyday stuff to me. I remember the cocktail napkin (literally! a cocktail napkin) days back in the 80s...

i WOULD DO THE STRAIGHT STUFF 2D THEN ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS FINISH THE CORNERS

Sometimes just clicking on the start button, sometimes reboot the computer. It's a bit random.

i HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS WITH 2021 AND 2022
NO SOLIDWORKS

It should be fairly easy to open the file and delete the parts you don't want anymore. I always save a copy first. I haven't really deleted anything since 1989.....

I am curious how many libraries people are using and maintaining. With the versatility built in, there are many ways to skin the cat when it comes to keeping track of tools and operations. There would have to be a specific tag identifier for the tool to be tracked across parts or part families.
Or just within a file to see without having to do something extra like a setup sheet

Check the control definition NC output page. Set the Max character in NC comment to a big number. 500 - 1000

i got a 3fl em to do it in 1:30 dynamic milling. If its alum and that holder is that long it may vibrate. Stub it all up and you could bump the SFM a lot.

Way back, surfacing was z oriented in many (all?) softwares. Containment and boundaries all had to be manually setup or it would crash the processor. I was taught the water theory then but software could not see the "backside of the surface like it can now.

Ah! I see. Thank you once again. Much appreciated
Imagine pouring water over the part. That's projection. now turn the part as you pour. That's wrap

In my case we do pump cases, they may be sent out to have 3/16" all over but come back with 1/2" in the bore .100" on a face ect.. alot of strange radii in there too. would you hand measure a whole part like this? im trying to see if maybe other companies are using any scanning technology to take the guess work out of measuring some of these things. also i dont have any experience with Verisuf.
In this case, I would pray or let the machine cut air. The way you are going about it seems like the best for what you have explained.

I like the back radius tool on a 3d contour. It may not be a complete radius in places but should give the customer what they want.

Using work offsets uses absolute based on the position of the work offset as a new datum location. I don't get what you are trying to accomplish

Uncheck start at midpoint in closed contours.
If you have roll around corners on it will wrap around the last radius and lead off
There are plenty of ways to manipulate a process. Try "adjust the start of contour" when starting on a corner to allow the tool to lead in on the cut. Add in a smal external radius and you make a beautiful part.
