  1. Thanks, have a verry merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year!
  2. Is there an easy way to sub a -W- for the A axis rotary in a MD,CD or post. Need it for a xxxxor control. I'm using an MP fanuc post..
  3. Rhino works excellantly with MC. Only trouble I've ever had is with trimmed surfaces importing. Then I set my tolerances tight and use IGES files.

Thank you. I have previously set up an inverse feed post that worked, so I will revisit that. Is inverse what I'm looking for ? I thought inverse put a feed on every rotary move..

Sorry about the double post, trouble with my browser.
  6. Hello out there. I have been using MCX for a while on Mikron mill but am new to rotary work. Any masters out there that can point me in a direction. I am using a rotary head in a small verticle(Benchman) I keep getting feeds in degrees per minute. like: 01 G17 G90 G54 G94 A12.675 X.0211 Y0. S6417 M03 F500. Z.4315 Z.3865 Z.356 F8. X.0109 A13.294 F46.2 X0. A13.504 X-.0109 A13.294 X-.0211 A12.676 X.0305 A12.839 I am trying to get an out put of code that will read like this:units per min G0 G17 G40 G49 G80 G90 ( TOOL .02 ) T2 M6 G0 G90 X-.0534 Y0. A178.831 M3 S10000 Z.495 G1 Z.41 F10. X.0534 F30. A173.795 X-.0534 F30. A178.831 Z.407 F10. X.0534 F30. A173.795 X-.0534 F30. A178.831 Z.404 F10. X.0534 F30. A173.795 X-.0534 F30. 8. Yes, exactly, with just a radial index of 180 degrees each stepover as in the code example I presented or Jim's Haas code. I can not get my rotary axis to do an unroll though.
  9. Oh yea, feed rate is not an issue. I can set that to whatever I want.Of course unit per minute is very slow so you have to overfeed if you do it that way. Danbo, I am going to get to the bottom of this one way or another..
  10. That's what I'm looking for but I need to do a surface with x step overs. My mcx2 ver doesn't let me unroll the surface? wonder why? that switch is not active. Is it because of the sides? (.010rad)
  11. "You will need to do some setup inside rotary axis" I'm not sure I follow you? I can get a curve path at a fixed angle and then edit in my rotations..but i really didn't want to do the editing. I have a lot of these programs to edit over to master camX
  12. Not quite what i'm looking for ,it still put out many A moves...I am looking for : G54G90G0X0Y0A0 G1X0Y0F75 X-.095A90.0000 Z.260F10 F40 Z.26A-90.0000 X-.090F10 F40 Z.260A90.0000 X-.086F10 F40 A-90.000 X-.081F10 F40
  13. I have allways milled it dry with a vacume line because it stinks and does powder up
  14. I hope somebody can help me with a simple problem. I am cutting a half diameter, say .625 diam , .125 wide with a .01 rad on each side. I am using an A axis rotary. How can I get MC to output simple radius moves of -X- stepovers and 90 to -90 radial moves. Every toolpath I have tried -4 axis rotary, 5axis flow, and 3 axis subs out put long strings of code. I looking for something like; X-.0625 Z.3125, A90; F40 A-90 X-.060 F 10 A90 F40 I need to keep the program as small as I can. I can do this with Powermill but I want to use MCX. Thanks for any help.
  15. Steve, I was, I didn't have room to use mult pass. I used a four cornered 7 deg handmade and had some better results. I was wondering what they use on a panograh. The single edge wouldn't hold up. the tip kept braking down..
