  1. Agreed. And that was the easy part. Protecting the "left" justification of all 5 rows of text was the sticky part. I went back to continue working in the dialog box using the space bar. Successfully I may add. But found I needed to keep the field of text hightlighted in a certain "state" which was a blue color I chose in my defaults (unknowingly to be fair). When i got the text group to stay highlighted in this color i ran back to to space bar and pushed some lines over and backed some up. got what i was after and hit enter, the text field turned green and snapped permanent. .... I quickly chained and posted before it moved again!! These "states" of color your geometry starts out as,moves from, into and then finally out of is worthy of soaking into a bit. Ill have to remember I how i stumbled on getting the field to highlight though. At somepoint when your troubleshooting and flying around the keyboard, it happens out of nowwhere and whats lost is the sequence of keystrokes to get you there. I love it.... Thank you!- Kevin Royer
  2. My blueprint requirement is to create text situated on an arc. In MCAM 2019, I'm creating 2D wireframe letters arranged with left side alignment, no indentation. I've entered my text, character height, spacing, and my arc radius and the designation of "bottom" rather than top. My issue is when i snap my 5 lines of text to my location, i'm losing the indentation of each line. Trying to manipulate them back into alignment using the space bar back in the "Letters" dialog box where I originally inputted them but to no avail. See attached file. As always, thank you! Kevin R. 3. See a previous post titled "Rotary Engraving- Feed Rate Setting. In there is my adventure on a Rotary Indexer and many great replies by others that may shed light on your situation.
  4. With the pressure of the rotary engraving job now in the rearview mirror, ( or aka completed ) I can begin my experiment on synching my rotary feedrate to my linear feedrate. To recap, my machine tool has no TCPC, and i was watching about 5-6 different feed rates switch back and forth as it engraved around a 3.125 dia. Control Definition question: How do I copy and save my current Con. Def. ? more importantly maybe is- where to save it? I intend to be deliberate with a small change to this definition (switching to "Use Inverse Time" from Degree/min.) but something tells me that I'll need to change a few more things as well, perhaps the Post? My thinking is to start with MCam first and exhaust changes to it before I dig in on the Haas HRT210 side with parameter changes i recently read about, that I believe are in play too as well... don't exactly want to boil the ocean right out of the chute Any help on this matter is appreciated! Thank you, Kevin
  5. In checking the Parameter/Diagnostics pages on the machine control, I find no hint of a TCPC function..
  6. G234 Tool Center Point Control (TCPC) is a software feature in the Haas CNC control that allows a machine to correctly run a contouring 4- or 5-axis program ...
  7. my remedial needs are now obvious! What is TCPC?
  8. Thank you for some direction here, I'll make the change on the Rotary only. I will tread very lightly in and around the Machine Definitons and the Post as these are areas beyond my competence. But this is why and what makes a great work day, tackling a technical issue with MCAM and a machine tool! I love it...
  9. i see.. do i change both the 4 axis feed option and Rotary to inverse? or just the Rotary? make the changes in the C. Def., save a copy, then repost correct?
  10. G93 is nowhere to be found. I did some searching in my control definition and found what i believe our the fields to make possible changes.? I will attempt again to attach a copy of my program and a jpeg of the definition page. 915.1.NC Doc1.doc
  11. In MCAM 2019 I programmed a feed rate of 2 IPM for my rotary engraving. In posting the program I find about 5 or 6, 7 different feed rates that are associated with my A axis positioning. What may be going on here? Is this a MCAM post issue or a servo machine control (parameter?) issue? In a dry run not making chips I see the coordination of my X,A axes working together. I'd like to calm down the faster feed rates. Try to obtain a constant feed rate for both the machine and the rotary. Like synchronize them I believe... As always , thanks for anything on this matter! Kevin R.
  12. Running MCam 2109 at the desktop, and behind me is the Haas TM2 with a HRT210. I consider my self "green" with all three components but man,I sure love learning on the job! I also am big on book reading the manuals but it sure helps to get connected with forums like this one... thanks and look forward to future posts. They claim i just made 'Rookie" status here! Onward and upwards..
  13. I subtracted the radius of my workpiece to my tool offset, as set from the top of my part. In theory that's my Z0. It worked, but i feel I backed into setting that Z zero. Is there a better way? Thank you guys for your help here!! BTW- love the "focking stick on the ice" quote. Spittin Chiclets is part of the game!! Kevin
  14. Thank you! What is the best way to show/send a picture of a MCAM project/ file to support my questions?
  15. Thank you! Can I simply add the radius value to my tool offset?
