My works internet blocks the ftp site. I'm going to take it home and upload it from there. Im leaving to go camping after work today so I can't do it till Monday.
Thanks Midwest have a good weekend.
I tryed comp at 0 and It runs if I have any amount in wear it give a cutter comp error.
The moves that is errors on are only .001mm moves. Is there a place I can limit the amount a small moves in mastercam?
ok I found the problem I can't find a fix. I changed my linearization tolerance up to .1mm and it still puts in this small move (last line on the code Z moves) exp.

I had a G41D03 in the program I took it out trying different things and forgot to put d03 back before I posted it on the forum. It still will not run with a D03 and .236mm in the mill comp.
I didn't know if you can keep cutter comp on with an X Y and Z move.
I'm going to take the haas book home today see if I can find some more on what the comp limits are. For now I’ll just change the program to match the regrind cutter.
I’m Programming for a hass and trying to cut a 3d contour with G41 cutter comp with Mastercam 9.1 and the mill gets a comp error. This is a exp.

I can't see anything wrong with it.

Does this person run only one part quantities? If not, why would you want to force a tool change after every operation? I only make one part runs.

screen/configure/nc settings/ops defaults......open Defaults.mc9 and go into each toolpath and set them up like you want to default. I think there is inches and a metric one.
I thought that it worked. It shows a check mark in the defaults/change nci/force tool change but it does not carry thru in my operations it comes up with no check mark.
That sounds great I'm giving a demo today to my Forman on the time savings using a presetter.
I'm really thankful for all the input this forum is great!

click on "Change NCI" in each operation and in there is a check box for "force toolchange".
Is there a place that you can get the force toolchange to default (checked) I would like it to force toolchange all the time. It would make it easer to restart at the machine. And I also have a mo1 with the tool change so they can run more than one mill safer.
You lost me for a few I was thinking a tool setter on the mill not a pre-setter (off line)
I had a tool setter on my Mazak and Toshiba and there is nothing better then having the mill do the work for you. (The way it should be)
Well the Toshiba had 3 heads (nutating 5 axis / vertical /horizontal) and would not be much fun without a built in tool setter

Just put in a Pre-setter and tell them no more touching off!Is it from Haas or a aftermaket pre-setter?

Not sure what "live spindle" means...what does he mean by "crash", software or hardware?
The software and the mill, it would skip a line and crash. Haas load a patch but it still crashed ( now this is what the machinist tells me )
Live spindle is when you can move X Y or Z with the hand wheel while the mill is cutting. It’s so you can blend to old surfaces.
I have not had any input in this department till now. I’m trying to change things for the better. Thing are not GOOD at all. Lots of bad habits pasted on for one to another. If some one new comes in they would tell the new guy this is the way we do it.... I think that I can get things done with this forum backing me up. I was told that (it’s not that bad)
My Forman read all your comments and he sees the light.
