  1. I have been wondering about this very thing. I have the helical enabled in MC & it does output the helical move but, outputs a line for every complete rotation, so MC would put out 72 lines for the helical bore below. I am using a manual entry to get the code as below & runs fine in our Mits Mill with 520 Meldas. I have heard you can get the post to output almost anything in MC, so am thinking that there is some way to output the code as below. The code as listed would bore a 2" rough diameter hole 2.15 deep in 72 revolutions (.030 pitch) with a 1.500" tool. Any ideas about post editing to make it work. G01 X.25 G02 X0. Y0. Z-2.15 I-.25 J0. P72 G01 X-.25 G00 Z2.15
  2. I am working on setting up a Post for a 4 axis Mitz horizontal, rotary table, with 520 Meldas control(Fanuc based). Post is almost ready to go, but have been wondering about extending the w axis (spindle) during some ops in some progams that we run now. What is the best way to do this? Is it possible to get the post to output an offset for the z axis when the w is extended. I want to try and avoid editing the program manually if possible. I have thought about using a G52 to offset the zero point of the program for the extended w axis & resetting back when the spindle is not extended. Any thoughts anyone?
